Let me share how I became involved in marriage therapy.

I originally come from a background in Islamic studies and literature. Alhamdulillah, I have been studying both since I was 14, under various scholars.

I have studied most branches of Islamic sciences and received Ijazah (Traditional certification) from the noble scholar Allama, Muhammad Al Amin Boukhoubza from Tetouan, Morocco. He was from the lineage of the Prophet ï·º and one of the world’s leading scholars in Hadith. May Allah have mercy on him.

After arriving in the UK, I pursued language acquisition and literature studies, obtaining a Master of Arts from the University of Wales, Trinity Saint David.

About 14 years ago, I started working as an Imam and Khateeb at the West London Islamic Cultural Centre (WLICC), an entity of Al Muntada Al Islami. It was during this time that I first became exposed to the need for family and marriage therapy. As you might be aware, many Muslims bring their family issues to Imams and Khateebs, which isn’t always the best solution and can result in unpleasant outcomes as I’ve explained on several occasions.

Dealing with these issues made me realise the importance of focusing on family and marriage counselling, and I decided to equip myself with further education. I began studying family and marriage psychology, knowing that combining Sharia with psychotherapy would greatly enhance my counselling practice—and Alhamdulillah, I was right.

By Allah's grace, my clients appreciate my work and frequently commend my approach and the results they experience.

I also pursued further studies in therapy at Holbeck College, under psychologist Chris Worfolk. I’ve studied various therapeutic techniques, including:

  • Couple Counselling using Systemic Family Therapy

  • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)

  • Person-Centered Counselling

After completing my psychotherapy studies, I adapted my therapeutic approach to align with the principles of Sharia, understanding that while psychotherapy is a man-made science, Sharia is Divine.

If this resonates with you, I'm here to provide you with the right tools to navigate your marital challenges and resolve issues safely and effectively, all while safeguarding your well-being and staying true to your values.

Let's embark on this transformative journey together!
